40% Hard study (Mostly Tesuji and Tsumego problems but also fuseki and joseki studiess)
40% Playing
20% Reviewing played games

Re: About notchers

If you took the time your going to spend to create the formula and did tsumegos instead im sure you would be able to know the status of all different kinds of notchers :)

Re: simple joseki question

I think that move is worth around 16p gote considering follow ups if i'm not mistaken. So its a large gote early endgame move and should therefor be played then. Unless of course theres l&d implications.

Re: Some tesuji problems for your enjoyment!

Good work so far from all of you! All the problems except C and D from page 1 is from Segoe's tesuji dictionary the other two from graded go problems for danplayers.

The Segoe book's is awesome and i recommend it for everyone that wants a good collection of different practical tesuji problems.

Re: tournament this weekend, 3d v 1d (egf)

Err some quick ideas.

M19: Seems like a mistake in direction i would probably play r6.
M23: I understand that you dont want to be counter pincered with m3 but getting white to build a moyo seems plausible, since you get the chance to play e6 for exampel reducing white increasing your and protecting ...

Re: Do you count?

Well i pretty much never count. In the endgame i can pretty much count the territory everything pretty quickly but since i cant evaluate the value of the moves i cant see what i gain from it.

During more serious games i sometimes do some rough counting and alot of gutfeeling assesments in the ...

Re: Some tesuji problems for your enjoyment!

If a ladder runs out of "the zone" with nothing blocking it, the ladder works and probably is the solution.

Regarding Zwergesels solutions:
Both of your solutions are correct, impressive reading on the geta problem. Its easy reading but quite long :)

Re: Where to get lessons query.

As far as i know there are 4 players at this forum that gives lections within your price range. That is , Battousai, Tabemasu, Alakazam and Topazg. And negotiating rebates if you pay in advance and bulk is pretty standard. But thats up for you and that particualr teacher.

Re: 39. Magicwand (3d) vs. Kirby (1d)

I actually think Magicwand is clawing his way closer when Kirby answers so passively. Kirby need to keep his tounge right or Magicwand might stage an upset. Harr, im actually rooting for magicwand atm, his playing have gone from sneaky overplayish to honest aggressive as the hc have increased and i ...

Re: 39. Magicwand vs. Kirby, part 4

To observers:
In playing these games, I am kind of curious: What makes me different than Magicwand? I guess you can get a feel for how I play vs. how he plays.

I have always thought that go is all about reading. When I lose games online, I often feel I have been outread... But I don't get this ...
