It won't tell u anything new about Go itself, but for any Western Go player who is interested in Chinese society and the Chinese Go community it's well worth reading. The author is an expert with professorship and all but the book is not too academic ...

I don't know anything to answer the question - but the book looks rather interesting.

Maybe the different skill gaps can be pinpointed by way of the game mechanics: Chess and go are both essentially "race games". Meaning the player who makes the most efficient moves wins. Meaning the player who makes less mistakes wins.

A normal game of go lasts about 100 moves longer than a game ...
