Re: Cho Chihoon vs Computer Go
This is the first time I've heard of the Korean program, Dolbaram (돌바람). Does anyone know who wrote it? Fun fact: the name means something like "stone and wind". Or maybe Windystone to counter Crazystone? xD

Re: New Go magazine in the works
May I ask why MOBI and EPUB? I found diagrams in .mobi to be unpleasant to use due to limitations in the device's ability to render sharp curved lines on the Kindle and the diagrams not being scaled properly by the software (due to the format not allowing for vector images I believe, but could be ...

Actually they were slate and shell, I'm not sure of the exact thickness.EdLee wrote:Nagano, thanks. What kind of stones were you using ? We're they the 10 mm ING stones ?
Re: awkward
Haha, you guys are reading way too much into this. I'm the guy on the right in the photo. Someone had just purchased the board off eBay but failed to bring any cushions to go with it. I tried to kneel at first, but it was a bit painful
So we decided to use chairs, though that was also awkward. xD

Yeah, I have tried it. I got it to work but it's quite broken on new Nexus 7 graphically. I figure it's better to not
Even with this, I still love my Nexus 7 for go studying.
Incidentally I had the same problem on my Nexus 7 (old version), but after a factory reset I tried it again and it works ...

Re: New Go magazine in the works
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. The magazine will be offered in DRM-free EPUB and MOBI (Kindle) formats, and hopefully print on demand will be possible for those who still want a physical copy. I can guarantee that the price will not be above $5 per issue, at least for the digital version ...

New Go magazine in the works
I'm planning to start a new English monthly Go magazine. Currently each issue is planned to be roughly 40 pages, containing game reviews, problems, interviews and feature commentary. A recurring focus will be the development of Go worldwide, with the goal of facilitating communication between ...

Mr. Fairbairn, I would gladly purchase your new books if you released them on Kindle as well, as you have with some of your previous work.

Re: Looks like Tygem Android client is here
Yeah, I enjoyed playing with it but the stone sizes were distracting, and I don't know enough Korean. I played a practice game with Boidhre where we didn't get the end scoring done right, and I was misclicking all over the place. I don't know if they have a way around it.
What size device were ...

Re: Looks like Tygem Android client is here
I installed it, and surprisingly it accepted login from my Tygem English account. Overall, it seems much nicer and more stable than the pathetic Wbaduk client, but the stones aren't sized properly on the Nexus 7. Hopefully this will be fixed soon.

Lee Sedol opening a new international site?
I heard from a Korean friend that Lee Sedol is opening a new site for international players, but she didn't know the URL. Can anyone confirm that this is true? I've searched but haven't found any information so far.

Re: AGA Announces New Pandanet-AGA City League
Well, it's just been announced, so I would guess not. Who knows if that has even been decided yet. Also, there is the question of which cities will be represented, and what they will have to do to qualify.
