Re: Wbaduk app tsumego glitches
I think you're correct, unfortunately. There's actually quite a few problems like this, I was going to do a follow-up post categorizing them separately, but my Iphone was stolen recently. I also haven't had any luck getting a hold of Wbaduk to see if they can update the app, maybe someone here who ...

Re: Mainstream Go Sightings
Go is mentioned once in Caliban's War, the second book of a recent scifi series by James S.A. Corey. The character, a UN politician, uses it as a metaphor for her machinations.

Re: Wbaduk app tsumego glitches

It doesn't seem to happen in the Iphone version or I would have been tempted to cheat a lot more in the advanced problem ...

Wbaduk app tsumego glitches
I finished the complete collection on my iPhone over the past few months(2633 problems) and made a log of the problems that don't work. Basically, any problems with a letter mark "A/B" in them don't function, some problems will crash the app when you open them, and a few will say the correct ...

Re: San Francisco Go Players!!!!
Attendance at the monthly Bay Area tournaments has dropped off considerably over the past year or two; we went from 30-40 to 15 or less, so they were canceled in favor of a quarterly format starting this August. None of us were really sure what happened exactly, although the disappearance of almost ...

Janice Kim suggested this method at a workshop I attended in SF a couple of years ago.

I just don't think you get the historical relationship between China, Japan, and the US and the rest of the west. The US and China are friends because it has been a historical mutual benefit, and Chinese while having deep internal political(Arguably started by the British) problems which prevent ...

Re: First Joseki and Fuseki books
You haven't read any books on the opening at all? Opening Theory Made Easy might be good. For a joseki starter, personally I like Rui Naiwei's Essential Joseki (which apparently is not available from Yutopian anymore, but an inexpensive copy shouldn't be that hard to track down).

Re: Lines of Play That are Especially Difficult to Read
Doesn't seem like a convincing argument. Better readers read better so play easy to read lines so they can read better. It seems like better readers would facilitate difficult reading conditions, maybe the better readers aren't all that good at reading in the first place, and they just memorized ...
