I'll admit that I'm not a fan of "Shin-Kaya". It's also a terrible misnomer since it's a kind of spruce and not Japanese (or Chinese) nutmeg.
$199 seems a bit steep for a spruce table board. Mr. Kuroki tends to have Kaya boards around that price from time to time so it might be worth sending him ...

YMI shin kaya board
I'm looking for a new go board, either shin kaya or agathis. Does anyone recommend the shin kaya boards from YMI? The thinner is significantly less expensive.
