Re: Influence oriented game

Thanks a lot for your reply,

I need to become more aware about what my opponent think is valuable, and what I think is valuable. I should've seen that first variation as important..

btw, is some kind of pseudo joskei? or was I right to be a bit surprised?

I guess I was a bit too timid about my ...

Re: Influence oriented game

For :b63:, I didn't think I could live where I was, so I figured the best method to make those moves worth something was to escape.

For 117, I think it must've been a misclick.. he didn't ask for undo though. I'dve let him have it..

Influence oriented game

So, I played this game, and my opponent immediately opened with a really influence oriented variation on a common joseki. I struggled with how to deal with this unexpected move, and in the end my opponent got a large strong wall facing his corner stone and from that point on, I couldn't figure out a ...

Re: Moyo Go Studio on linux

In case anybody encounters this post later, I've found the cause of this problem. It seems that this is caused by the Nvidia graphics drivers.

Currently I have a hybrid graphics laptop. (m for more info)

When testing this program, I was using the Nvidia GPU. Recently I switched to the Intel GPU ...

Re: connection joseki

very close, I'm thinking specifically of invasions.

Here is the example in question:

The book is mentioned on a variation of move 19, and now that I read more carefully, I realize it's actually 'ENCLOSURE JOSEKIS' not connection joseki ...

connection joseki

Hi, I recently heard about a book with so called 'connection joseki' the idea being that there are well known ways to invade and connect to outside groups etc.. A google search turned up nothing appropriate except typical joseki books. Does anybody know a book about this?

Re: Handicap game play review

Thanks a lot for your response.

point taken about the small corner territories. I wasn't confident my groups were safe enough for some reason.

Same for the monkey jump. I absolutely should've left that.

At B20 I have sente, but I wasn't sure how to go about reducing black's territory. The left ...

Handicap game play review

Can somebody give me a critique of this handicap game I played recently on KGS? I feel like my opponent played solidly and wasn't letting me get away with some overplays which I felt were necessary for me to win.

(If you viewed this just after I posted it, sorry I was trying to figure out how to ...

Moyo Go Studio on linux

Hi, I'm trying to run Moyo Go studio on linux using wine. I've run into the classic problem of the stones not being visible. I've opened a new wine bug here: m

I've tried it on ubuntu 13.10 and debian 7 using both compiled and pre-built packages, but no luck.

I've seen several people reported to ...
