I think you ought to lay off the broccoli.
The OGS challenge / accept system puts me off playing there actually. If I want to play without handicap, then I don't really want to play somebody nowhere near my rank. Still miss it as the ultimate correspondence server
You can restrict rank on OGS ...

Re: What's your favorite board game other than Go?
Before playing Go I used to play this game a lot Ô ăn quan . It's an old traditional game in my country, very easy to learn and popular among children because it focus on counting. I think it's spread out of Vietnam by now though, last time I went to Germany there was a copy sold in the board game ...

What people said, also GoQuest have the adventage of beeing easy to access and have quick games with people (well if you use the setting to avoid playing bots)
From my beginnery stage it also demand you learn to read quickly. (Which for me might be keep in bad habits though)

Re: GoQuest Go server
Well I tried playing there out, what I found from one game, which might be wrong in the long run, was an very early resignation from the opponent, I killed three of his stones and he gave up. I might consider this having something todo with a ranking system if it is such as you rank up on a certain ...

Browsing through the website for Seattle Go Club, I noticed something that made me go "WOW!!!!"
You have to pay now to visit a Go club?
Is that a new practice?
Is that common in other Go clubs?
Or is that something specific to this particular club which requires payment, like they rent the ...

Any board size counts: 9x9, 13x13x, 19x19, etc.
Rough estimate: under 25, around 50, between 50 - 100, over 100 ?

I love this topic, sadly I only discovered it now
Anyways, I'll add my two cents
Mine is "mieux vaut un tient que deux tu l'auras" but it's not a go proverb
I'm not sure how to translate that in english... I think it is "A bird in the hand is better than two in the bush" but I'm not sure ...
