Re: Completing a used stone set I bought

If you bought a used set from an unknown manufacturer and an unknown production period, then it will be rather difficult to find perfectly-matching spare stones. Re: Understanding Leela console message

Please note that Leela GUI works well on GNU/Linux under Wine. I'm attaching below an illustrative screenshot of the running analysis for the game you mention. (This is with Leela 0.7.0, Wine 1.9.21.) So, using native Leela GUI under Wine might be an easy out-of-the-box option to analyse your games ...

Re: Looking for Pro games from top players

It would be good to include games older than 1980 by players with classical "natural" style, such as Takagawa Kaku or Honinbo Shuei (in addition to already-mentioned Honinbo Shusaku ). The "natural" game style seems to be especially well suited for a guess-next-move type of training.

You can also ...

4. Variation 25 for (page 19)
For a book that has declared its intention to embrace a love of fighting, I'm curious that there isn't even a mention of the bad shape (empty triangle) that makes in this diagram. To me, shape is *almost* as important in fighting as reading, but so far, it's ...

Re: GoGameGuru

Hence why an update on status would be welcome.

Indeed... Perhaps it may be helpful to add one more recent personal experience data point in the meantime. At the end of August 2016 I ordered the Rosewood Go Bowls with Carved Orchids for a set of glass stones. The bowls were shipped very fast, the ...

Re: Hajin Lee's formula for improving at go

Could someone provide a tutorial on how to use this formula?

What does Qs, Ts and other stuff mean? (link is in the first post is broken)

"Warning: this is for fun. It's not scientific or academic".

Vg = (Qs*(Ts+Qp))**(Tg/(Age+L))

Vg = Speed in improving your baduk skills. (units not given ...

Nice! Would you manage to take a close-up picture of the stone shape, comparing to your slate stones and your Ing stones, similar to the pictures I posted above?

Re: Best glass stones (6 Brothers vs Shinkwang Phoenix vs Ja

I was interested in a similar question about ten years ago. Here are some direct
and indirect data points that may be perhaps of interest.

Glass stones: Japanese vs Korean

About ten years ago we compared with a friend a set of Japanese glass stones and
a set of Korean glass stones:

Japanese ...

Re: New book, Relentless - Lee Sedol vs. Gu Li

did you get the paperback or hardback version? If you got the paperback one, what do you think of the quality of the binding? - i.e. is it going to last well?

I've got the paperback version of Relentless . The quality of the binding looks very good. However, in comparison to the Invincible ...

Re: Shin kaya vs kaya

To me this looks like kaya, a little bit coarse-grained indeed...

Actually, the posted side pictures seem to point exactly to the Aoyama Gobanten kaya board no.700. It seems to be the same board.
