This is very interesting, thanks.
So, it seems hard to find references to this "n+1 spaces from n-stone wall" proverb. I was looking for such references because, if my memory serves well, Yilun Yang justifies some extensions by writing that they are "ideal", and it often seems that it is only ...

Re: Book reference for the ideal distance from a wall?
Thanks. If you also know of books you did not write that contain information about this, I am interested too, even if they are less good in your eyes.
I am asking this question because I vastly prefer buying books from SmartGo Books, thanks to their interactive diagrams.

Book reference for the ideal distance from a wall?
In what books (and chapter) can the rule for the ideal distance from a wall be found and, ideally, discussed? I only recall seeing it in a less known book, but it is used in many other books, so this is an important rule, and I would like to learn more about it.

Re: Best for SDK: book (Graded Go Problems) or goproblems.co
Thanks for the feedback. Beyond non-go issues like bed-time reading, I understand that Grade Go Problems is better curated (organization by theme, stronger answers).
With goproblems.com, I am surprised by some of the answers to my incorrect moves, and I really appreciate that: chances are that I ...

Best for SDK: book (Graded Go Problems) or goproblems.com?
Is there any advantage in reading Graded Go Problems (for a SDK, so probably volume 3 and/or 4), compared to doing problems from goproblems.com?
What I love about goproblems.com is that the problems contain answers to many wrong moves, which helps understanding one's mistakes.
What do you think?

Ranking of big opening moves
In Fundamental Principles of Go, Yilun Yang puts big opening moves in four classes. Now, each class contains a few possible move types. For example:
Second Class:
⋅ Enclose or approach a 3-4, 5-3, or 5-4 point stone.
⋅ Play on the midpoint of a side with facing corner ...

Re: iPad go AI: which one to use after SmartGo Kifu?
If you want to play humans some day you're not going to be very good at it if you just play bots because bots and humans play rather differently and a lot of what works against specific bots on the iPad won't work against humans. If I understand correctly, the problem is that every AI/player is ...

Re: iPad go AI: which one to use after SmartGo Kifu?
After nine great months spent fighting against the SmartGo AI on iPad (mini 2), I am outgrowing its AI. Now, I am considering moving to Little Go (Fuego), Champion Go HD (Crazy Stone) or Igowin HD (Many Faces of Go). Which one(s) do you recommend?

Re: iPad go AI: which one to use after SmartGo Kifu?
I ended up getting Champion Go HD (Crazy Stone), for some tangential reason: it is the only one that offers landscape mode too. Now, this may seem like a detail, but in my experience developers who make efforts and offer some basic but important user interface features tend to have stronger products ...

but really you need to start playing humans as well. I keep reading this piece of advice: I will explore this.

Re: iPad go AI: which one to use after SmartGo Kifu?
I don't know what SmartGo's level is (except that I'm beating it at its second highest level on an iPad mini 2, which is a relatively fast iPad, with 16 seconds per move for the AI). Its author also said it did not know it's level (on Twitter recently).
Now, as for my level, I'd be interested to ...

Re: Book for advice on running fight moves?
Thank you for the help!
For reference, I also just noticed:
- Shape Up! (Charles Matthews), Chap. 14 (Haengma)
- Baduk Made Fun and Easy, Lessons 52–56.
I haven't read them, so I don't know how much they address my initial question of knowing when to do a slow stretch and a larger one-point jump.
