Re: Hiratuka No Igo

@Pippen, but you can use whatever GTP capable UI. Everything else is probably hopeless. I mean the UI is crappy and we have no or just an outdated translation.

@Dunkn, Problem is, I have no info on arguments and the source code zip file is protected.
The Drago template which someone posted early ...

Time to retire from the Japanese scene and play international tournaments only. And Chinese City League.

Re: Can an Android device user help me out?

I've got the full version and set it up against Zen 5 on the 5-dan setting. Some claim Zen is stronger when set to a fixed thinking time interval (which I might try at some point), but I thought that would provide a good base line.

Zen moved slightly quicker on some occasions than Go+, but then ...

Re: Go4Go App for Android

Perhaps a wish that doesn't apply to many users, but could we get more options to customize the graphics?

Settings that would be much appreciated on my part:

1. Line strength
2. Other stone textures, maybe customizable
3. Ability to set background for plain theme (as I would like a light gray ...

Re: How strong is Zenith Go?

That video is a joke because the settings for Zen was completely wrong (set level rather than time). Can see how that mistake is made (Zen has a pretty counter intuitive setting where "5d" is weaker than 5 seconds per move and you can only select either strength or time), but can't believe no one ...

Re: Hiratuka No Igo

headless' entry works for me. Downloaded latest version of Drago, and edited the engines.config accordingly. It shows the native client when calling the engine from Drago, but you can simply switch back to Drago and keep playing there. Doesn't crash for me, and the playing speed is quite astonishing ...

Re: Crazy Stone 2015 released in Japan

So apparently there are 3 improvements over the previous version:

- Updated version of Crazy Stone (hard to say how much of a difference)
- "Tesuji study" which is apparently an improved analysis mode
- "Dojo mode", which disables undos and hints and keeps track of your win/loss record

Not a ...

Crazy Stone 2015 released in Japan

http://www.unbalance.co.jp/igo/sigoMeijin/

Does anybody know more about this? Specifically, what kinds of engine improvements went into this and what win rate 2015 manages versus 2013 on the same hardware?

Hope there'll be an English release soon.

Re: Fridays with xhu98, the open Go show on OGS!

I really, really enjoy your show and the diverse guests. And while I'm not able to tune into the live stream, I watch most of the videos on Youtube. Response to your thread seems slow here, but don't let that discourage you. Great show and I hope you keep it going for a while. Hopefully I might be ...

Re: Help Pandazilla suck less at Go

Played two games on Tygem, one of them today, against other 18ks. The first one I "won" by resignation after move 13, the other I lost today by resignation. In hindsight I might have resigned too quickly, but losing actually felt surprisingly OK (not great of course), but the anxiety before the game ...

Re: my experience playing with koreans on wbaduk

That reminds me of something that Ben Hogan wrote about golf. The perfect golf swing is smooth and precise. But at the start, he recommended not trying for a smooth swing, but to try to hit the hell out of the ball. He said that if you don't develop your power from the start, you never will.

Re: Help Pandazilla suck less at Go

So I'm still grinding through the 50 basic tsumego again and again, and the concepts behind them feel a bit more natural each time. Will keep that up. Other than that, joellercoaster and I started a game on OGS. Slow goings at the moment.

Re: Speech 2014 US Go Congress and a request to strong playe

I think it's great that we have this current wealth of high dan amateurs streaming on Twitch and uploading on YouTube.

This reddit thread and the comment by dontlookup link just about all that's available.

Personally, I enjoy nicksib, Haylee, littlelambgo and Dwyrin the most. I'm subscribed to ...
