Re: A 0.5 point win. Not good enough :/

Just a few comments, in no particular order of importance:

Move 22) After B jumps to G14, W should be looking to cut with G15 rather than F15. Both moves seem to work in this game, but G15 is better shape.

Moves 23-40) are a disaster for B, so he has to find something better. Playing the peep at ...

Re: A 0.5 point win. Not good enough :/

you're right. I don't know what I was thinking at the time but those are both quite unnecessary. With two extra move I probably could have killed him and then this would be a very different game.

A 0.5 point win. Not good enough :/

Even game. I was white, and komi was 0.5. I thought I was winning by a lot more, but he managed to scrape out life for a dragon that I was sure I had killed. I managed to pull ahead by half a point for the unsatisfying win.

All comments will be appreciated, hopefully

Re: Brief game for a rusty player :]

The D8 variation is itneresting, I just have never used it before. My move at B10 was based on a fear of having no base and not wanting to over extend with a white stone so close, but having said that he did press me very low with relative ease so D8 does look better in that sense, especially since ...

Re: Brief game for a rusty player :]

when you say "Odd" does that mean "bad"? Because I use these tactics often and see them from others often as well. Have I interpreted the need for these moves incorrectly? Are there moves that are much better?

Re: Game review 2k-4k no handi

I didn't look at this entire game but ill tell you what I saw. Black played carelessly at some points. His moves lack shape, and in the northwest he played too high and loose near white influence leaving an open skirt that could be attacked later.

Sometimes it is better to make the obvious move ...

Brief game for a rusty player :]

Hey guys I haven't played in a few months and I played this game recently so I wanted a review. It was an even game with 0.5 komi. I played black and my opponent was a 5 kyu. I ended up having to leave the game due to a prior engagement so i resigned, although at the time of the resignation I don't ...
