The Shogi variant is "Dōbutsu shōgi" and is commercially available (maybe also in your region) - more in Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C5%8Dbutsu_sh%C5%8Dgi

For the Go variant I think that 9×9 and bigger stones is better for the kids.

Hello,

we have equipment from different sources including from 6brothers. Buying directly in Asia means to handle the customs yourself and pay higher shipping costs and import taxes.

That's why most of our equipment is bought in Europe, because that's easier and gives us more time to organize Go ...

His name was something like Stanbach (Sutanbakku)

The German Go Magazine (Go-Blatt) started in 1952 after World War 2.

Noone of the names in the list of Go players (December 1952) started with "Ste" oder "Sta", also no article about this person/journey in 1952 ...
