I think Champion Go would be a good choice, just using the local version. My guess is you would be able to win around 65% of the "medal challenge games" at 4 kyu, which gives you some room to grow.

The Graded Go Problems for Dan Players are excellent. I would estimate the ratings to be about 3 stones weaker than what the problems state - which is consistent with what I have found in playing at the Nihon Kiin (YMMV)

I am thinking the first are actually a dark stained Kaya. They smell similar to the Kaya oil I bought - kinda band-aid/vegetabley.
