Re: Help me with calculating/avoiding border taxes with Kuro

Hi,

I'm from Spain too and I decided to buy from go game guru. The prices are high but the quality of the product is very good and you get rid of taxes and so on. The problem with Kuroki is, as you point out, the IVA, the duty taxes and the shipping costs...

By the way, where are you from? I'm ...

Re: EidoGo and Wordpress 4.1.5

It seems that the EidoGo plugin (to display .sgf files) is no longer compatible with Wordpress. For the Seattle Go Center website, http://www.seattlego.org we are now using Wordpress 4.1.5, and the plugin no longer works, although EidoGo worked with earlier versions of Wordpress. Do you ...

Well, this project proves that technology to do this is already available in the market. Back in 2013, actually...

And yes, I'd like something like Hololens or "whatever"lens to include a software like this one

Re: Augmented reality go

You need to read more carefully. I did not say I found anyone guilty of anything. I stated my impression when I first looked at it. That is very different. But you asked why no one had responded, so I gave a truthful answer. First impressions count for a lot and it did not impress me. My first ...

Re: Augmented reality go

Yes, seriously. My impression was that is was some young kid new to the game trying to do something with technology instead of really studying. There is no short cut for hard work and I wouldn't touch that at all.
Ok, so you haven't watched the full video. You didn't get to the "play someone" over ...

Re: Augmented reality go

Seriously? Noone thinks that playing on a real board over the internet would be awesome?

I was even ready to ask for some sort of crowdfunding/hiring process here...

Augmented reality go

A few months ago I came accross a nice project: ARGOTrainer. The idea is to use augmented reality in order to play go in a real goban but without a physical opponent, you may play games over the internet against someone, review a pro game or learn josekis.

The idea is just awesome. Playing through ...

From pictures to sgf files

This in an extract from my blog, I thought it might be interesting to post it here too:

As I already mentioned in my previous post, I’ve been working on the issue of recording my games while playing. Even if everyone claims that learning to memorise them during the game would help me improve, I’m ...

Re: Something is wrong with my playing style

Update: Seems like the key was to be aggressive, more aggressive, overly aggressive!!!

I've just won 2 games in a row and the second one was the most interesting game I've had in a couple of weeks. Thank you everyone!!!

Wel, though it's bad shape, I didn't know how to stop him from reducing my territory if he got to play D4..

Re: Something is wrong with my playing style

Thank you for all your comments.

I've been losing too much lately, so I'm too afraid to play anything offensive or slightly risky.
Though I know w76 is a bad move, against all basic principles, I was worried about D4 if I played D2.

Actually, after realising all the mistakes I made... I feel ...

Something is wrong with my playing style

For some reason, I'm playing terribly bad lately. Could someone give me a hint on what's wrong with it?
I don't mean specific moves, but the whole game itself is a mess...

Re: Learning curves

Learning go has its ups and downs and, in fact, when we are learning something we tend to lose a few stones till we effectively use it.
