Re: Nvidia RTX 30xx
Some youtubers pronounce 5700 as "fifty seven hundred" etc. I expect "five thousand seven hundred" or would understand "five [...] seven hundred". Is the first pronunciation, which should represent 50700, a common mistake, American slang or something else? If it is slang, then how do they pronounce ...

If you like forum comments from a specific author you are 18; if you like books by the same author you are 81.

Re: Ultimate tie break for three way tie
How do you compare handicap and komi, for example 2 stones handicap vs. 20 points komi?
Results from pro games and bot games suggest that the advantage for the first move is close to 7 points. 2 handicap stones should be approximately equal to 21 points of komi.
The sorted list of possible ...

Re: Ultimate tie break for three way tie
The world has changed a bit since this thread began. I think that the interesting approach today would be to use an engine like Katago to determine a handicap/komi combination that gives Black a 66.7% chance of winning (let's guess it is something like a 2-stone game with a 17 point komi). So then ...

The position is from game 1 AlphaGo vs Fan Hui.

Re: influence concensus map
given what happened in the upper right, i don't think the position is from a pro game, but i suppose it could be... can someone who can look up databases of pro games tell us?
The position is from a game Ota Yuzo vs. Yasuda Shusaku played in 1842.

Re: LZ help for position
I am interested in the sequenze 8-32 purely for White.
1. Where is the first time Leela would have played differently as White.
2. After 32, if Black plays F8 White cannot kill the 6 black stones inside IMO. What sequenze would Leela play to F8 and how does it see White then?
Starting with move ...

From the engines menu you can select the command "Toggle GTP Console". Maybe you can see there a useful hint what's going wrong. E.g. you would see if the program couldn't open the file with the weights.

This is an interesting discussion. Could someone who owns this book post a few snapshots of the content?

Re: On the accuracy of winrates
On second thought there is at least one particular problem with bot winrates, if used for anything else outside the bot's search. Because of the way pure MCTS works (averaging), winrates can only change slowly (the later in the search the slower potential changes are).

I wouldn't mind it, if it would beep at the end of each period.
You're right, it doesn't beep until the last period... that's a drawback indeed.
The DGT1005 Byo-yomi uses beeping sounds to indicate the intervals, with a long beep towards the end of the period in similar fashion of the calling ...
