Isn't a dragon a long squiggle of stones waving throughout the board?

How Do I Stop This Dragon?

I have a tournament tomorrow, so I hope I can get a review in beforethen.

In the game, my opponent annoyingly played a dragon, and I foolishly failed at stopping it. I am also wondering if my global strategy was good or not. Thank you!

Re:

Edlee, I just want to thank you for all the help you're giving me.

What they fail to mention (from what I've seen, including in Mr. Kageyama's paragraph) is why on earth would you do that ? I'm unfortunately a product of that proverbial mentality. I mean, proverbs are proverbs for a reason though ...

Re:

Hi pocket,

This drop to the second line is strange feeling.
Why is your eye drawn to there, when you can take Q5 ( 5-4 ) ?
I'd say at the time, if I'd place Q5, he'd hane at Q2, or at least I would think that. I just didn't want him taking the corner. But seeing it now, I think placing at Q5 ...

20k v 19k handicapped

White won by 10.5.

I added my reasoning throughout the game. I don't play on a 19x19 board that often, but i'm training for an upcoming real-life tournament, so I was hoping if my strategies were adequate. Any thoughts are appreciated. Also, are ...

Re: Am I having the right mentality? (21k v 18k, handicapped

Why, in your words, would you say you lost this game? The main parts were misreadings and assuming 19x19 joseki worked on a 13x13 board. I was also more interested in the center rather than sides and corners, but I don't know if that was as important as my first two reasons.

B suffers a loss from ...

Am I having the right mentality? (21k v 18k, handicapped)

https://online-go.com/api/v1/reviews/181016/sgf

I made a couple blunders, but my overall concern is whether I lack anything important in decision making. Such as should I choose this section over that section, should I surround this group or invade, etc.

I left some notes about what I was ...

Why are odd-numbered extensions the most ideal?

I was watching a Nick Sibicky lecture (I forgot which), and he mentioned odd-numbered extensions are more advantageous than even-numbered ones. I'm all for implementing this in my gameplay, but I'd also prefer to know the reason for this.

Re: Any good Go Youtube channels you could share?

I'm a 22 kyu, so I usually watch channels aiming for double digit kyus:

Jim Plays Go: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCiC-U0LlProVXHgJsSXhQ8w
Definitely tailored for double digit kyus. His games and lectures are much more understandable by me than other channels.

How do I climb out of the 25-20 kyu region?

I'm really eager to rank up to 19 kyu. It's a personal goal to get out of the 20's. Right now, I'm floating between 23 and 21. I've heard you must experience over a hundred games, and I have 55 under my belt. I've also heard to avoid handicaps and play with those at your rank. I'm also doing around ...
