I probably didn't make myself clear. So I'll detail an example to make it clearer:
Imagine a tournament:
We named the best player A, the second best player B. Both in top-group
At round 1, A won against C and D, B won against E and F.
A and B won all their others games until last round.
At last ...

Re: A tad too much McMahon?
Heh, my bad! I clearly meant SODOS in my head but typed SOS. I'm such a duh-brain. Sandy Taylor beat the winner Sai Sun and runner up Andrew Kay. S+SODOS respectively is 41, 43, 36 so it would put him in second place which seems more accurate to what the right result should be! 2015 london open ...

Re: A tad too much McMahon?
When someone does not start in the top group, he has weaker opponents.
So there will always be a difference in SOS.
So the score+SOS would not change anything.
I find it funny to say that someone has been unfairly robbed, and to propose a fairer system that leads to exactly the same result.

Re: EGF vs AGA pros win-and-continue match
I think this is utter nonsense.
Matches like this are good for European and American Go, but they wont affect the average amateur player and how they play at all
You say its good for european Go(in what?) but at same time no affect the average player? its a contradiction,no? If this games doesn ...

Re: EGF vs AGA pros win-and-continue match
I'm not judging sportsmanship among NA players, but principles who applied in this tournament.
So dichotomy for me is in the official tournament rules of each federation, not behavior of players.
(and Ryan Li is a part of the minority who did not follow the majority of the NA Team).

Re: EGF vs AGA pros win-and-continue match
I wonder if this tournament does not have a negative impact and if it would not be better to stop it, in the interest of the development of Go in Europe.
Let me explain:
In Europe, a radically different choice has been made to insist on sportsmanship.
It is in the rules of our Federation, and this ...

Yes please Kirby, stop.
You complain that it restarts while it is you who insist on the subject.
And you continue to invent false remarks to participants in the conversation, which inevitably provokes stormy responses to this lack of respect
Example: "If objecting to a referee's decision is ...

Re: EGF vs AGA pros win-and-continue match
Well, IMHO it is not fair to Jabarin to do mindreading on him.
I can grant you that a pro can refuse to surrend for better reasons:
We can see in 2019, old famous pros are over-represented in loss by more than komi, probably because its a way to recognize the new generation.
But here what could ...

Re: EGF vs AGA pros win-and-continue match
Well, I guess it shouldn't be surprising that some hypocritical commenters insisted that Lui should have resigned when significantly behind during overtime in game 4 but didn't then say that Jabarin should resign when more than 20 points behind in game 5. Or maybe Jabarin was hoping that Lui might ...

Re: EGF vs AGA pros win-and-continue match
Would be easier to move on, if some people stop to repeat lies.
Loss by disconnection is not a classic loss by time.
When i see lies like this, i don't feel we are learning from past.
It would help if you don't call a difference of opinion a lie. We're on the same side of the sympathy but I ...

Re: EGF vs AGA pros win-and-continue match
1) As an American, I am very sorry for Mateusz, and the European team deserves to be 4-0. I believe I can say this and simultaneously hold the opinion that a rematch was the fairest option.
2) To those saying this is an easy fix, we can resume just for this one game, no need to worry about ...
