Hi all,
I've made a Chrome/Firefox extension which adds a row of buttons to the chat box for one-click sending of common messages (user definable). It's already available in the Chrome webstore , and it's been submitted to Mozilla Add-ons for review, so should be available for Firefox soon.
Any ...

Moving to Zhengzhou
Hi folks,
I'll be taking up residence in Zhengzhou city pretty soon, and was wondering where I might find a go salon, or any public areas where it's played.
Any other tips or advice about Zhengzhou are welcomed. Cheers.

Parlours/salons in Incheon
Hi folks,
I'm thinking of moving to Incheon in September to teach English and I'm wondering how easy it is to find baduk parlours/salons there (or Seoul). Has anyone got any experience of this or something similar?
Thanks in advance

Re: I've always wondered...
what Go would be like if the star-point intersections were removed. That would be interesting, I feel.
Interesting. What if we take the analogy of the go board as a battlefield and say certain areas cannot be occupied? We could rule out groups of points here and there as a lake or otherwise ...

Omit words.
Nah, the first one indicates opinion whereas the second implies fact.

Re: Pro resignation after 47 moves in Judan
The chase from J7 was silly but what was with the jump to L5? Shouldn't White extend along the side to O3? Black extends to Q5 but White has a base and can slide under Black later at J2.

Pro resignation after 47 moves in Judan
I just viewed the following game record on gokifu.com. It seems crazy that a pro could go so wrong so fast
What could have happened?

Thanks! I've been trying to figure that out too! Still can't find anything on the site except for the picture that describes the non-existent (for me) download link

Re: KGS Sound Issues in Ubuntu
Here's my 2 cents: I had success with jre6u31 and the following command in Ubuntu 10.10 and Zorin (based on Ubuntu 11.04)
jre6u35 didn't work at all (sound-wise, that is) and aoss works in place of padsp in the above example.
Code: Select all
padsp /opt/jre1.6.0_31/bin/java -jar cgoban.jarjre6u35 didn't work at all (sound-wise, that is) and aoss works in place of padsp in the above example.

Zaisu chairs in Europe?
Does anyone know where I could buy a zaisu chair online from Europe? They are available from the US but shipping costs as much as the chair itself

Hiroshi Yamauchi and go
I remember reading an anecdote about Hiroshi Yamauchi (Nintendo president 1949-2002) being an avid go player, and that it was partly his appreciation of go that allowed him to coax the company through the video game crash of the early eighties to long-term success. Does anyone know of such an ...
