Game review 7kyu kgs

Hey I would like to know what I'm doing wrong. I know this game was lost due to my consistent attempts to kill instead of building territory. I think my opening had mistakes, but I don't know. I have forgotten most joseki and have been taking lessons on internet go school. Any critique is welcome ...

Re: long time no see.

I got to 3 Dan by learning the principals of opening theory, understanding the fundamentals of Go by Kageyama, and kinda one day just had a huge aliphany, and I finally was able to see my opponents thought process in a game. Harrison was not shocked by me being Dan, says I'm just like a lot of dans ...

Re: How old are you?

22, and I feel older than everyone one within three years of my age; my older mature friends make me feel like I have not grown up yet.

long time no see.

For those of you who have no idea who I am here's an introduction. I joined this website right after GD closed their doors; I spent all my time playing single digit kyu's and never thinking about my moves. When I turned 20 I started to take more than two seconds a move and slowly learned strategy of ...

Re: Is it possible to play Go without strategy?

Yes, it is impossible to be a strong pro without being a strategist. Go is a game of war, not a game of one battle like chess. Wars have always been one by great strategists, you cannot through a bunch of men at your enemy and hope to win if he is a strategist. Let's take the Vietnam war for example ...

Re: Longest game you've ever played?

I had a friend, who is now on the road the becoming a grandmaster of chess, I played alot. He was by far the most agressive player I met, if anything could be attacked. We played in a tournament I held and it was 1 hour no byomi. He litterally only lost by time out. I eventually beat him soundly in ...

Phil Collins FTW (if you are wondering who that is, he wrote, and was the first to play it live.)

Re: American Go Professional Certification program

According to my contact in the AGA board of directors, this will take place the week before congress, in the same place, starting this year. This was in October right before they had a meeting to discuss whether it will be swiss or double elimination. I have not contacted her since, but due to ...

finally, They announced it. Lisa told me all the details 2 months ago I have kept it secret since.

They talked about this at least twice during congress. I don't think it was exactly secret.

wasn't truly a secret, I did not know they talked about at congress, but I did know that if I posted it ...

Re: Greed (3-3 invasion as first move)

Note to myself: Maybe I should just stop playing blitz games.

blitz is purely for kicks and giggles, you don't play at your best, and partly because your not reading. I consider blitz low quality games(this is coming from the same guy who 5 months ago never took his time to read, and took 10 or ...

Re: Greed (3-3 invasion as first move)

3-3 invasion on second move of game is very generous. tapir overall it seems rude, but he is hurting himself, so who cares.

Re: chess playing go players

We have a guy in our club who is now 4 kyu aga. This guy is primarily a chess player, and after this school year he is going to travel and become a chess pro(he is around uscf 2000). I haven't played the guy much, but his exact problem is trying to kill everything, and then he gets greedy when ever ...
