Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
I have found another simple reason, why Carlo should be unseated from EGC main referee's position. The Italian side experssed, that he is depressed and afraid to speak on public. Following this logic, will not he be afraid to speak on public also on EGC, where he has to control 1000 players ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
Please note that some of the moves could appear in previous moves analysis, ie move 101 appeared first in move 97, therefore it could be shown earlier or found faster. This method is IMO not conclusive. (though I have to notice that in this case it fits quite nicely).
As long as your method ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
As one already observed, Chess World took years to develop a solid anti cheating method. Considering Go complexity I think that we'll need at the very least other 4 or 5 years to solve this problem.
Most important thing is that a future solid method needs to be accepted by all EGF association. If ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
20K simulations is only 4 seconds on a modest GPU. Those are not the moves Leela would suggest whan the thinking time is normal and you run Leela 0.11 in analysis mode. On my laptop with 1050 GPU it will usually be over 300K.
I analyzed on older machine, so it took some time.
Here is ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
Since you obviously have not bothered to read my paper, on one hand you have two online games similar to Leela, and on another two live games with much lower level of play. Comparing those two games shows large difference in play. Draw your conclusion...
What if later one founds a live game ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
Are you seriously asking to expose more players, maybe false positive, to this crusade?Javaness2 wrote:
Who are they, and which are the games you mention?
I envy some people certainty about cheaters and cheating, I'm still full of doubts.

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
But that is why it is actually completely impossible to explain how could Metta played two entire games completely on level of Leela program. Only mistake - Leela's L&D mistake.
European pros in same event played several mistakes per game.
Actually there are other PGETC players with several ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
And I am curious, what method would not show that Metta's two online games are very different to his two live games?
In addition to your question, I'm more interested in your conclusion. Are you suggesting that every player plays exactly the same way in every game?
This is far from reality ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
One thing we would like to know is how often Leela makes similar blunders. Here is also where the choices of other strong programs, such as Zen, Golaxy, or Leela/Efi could be helpful to know. If they also choose that blunder, then the fact that Metta did too is not so significant. It would be a ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
Therefore, it is not just handful of moves, it is entire middle game in two online and two live games.
Regarding other live games of Carlo Metta, please note that some of them were played after objection that he used Leela, therefore it would be less likely that he might use Leela again in same ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
In my opinion, thing is simple - if we have a player who is playing online like Leela, and playing much weaker in live games, then he was using Leela for online games.
No need for complicated statistics, or guessing why he plays much better online.
But you involuntarily used the statistics ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
What is all this "the Go world is breaking apart" talk? That there are different opinions on one topic does not mean that the Go world would break apart.

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
2.5m sims of Leela 0.11 on my PC with a GeForce 1060 takes ~9 minutes. And yes Carlo generally plays pretty fast so doing that many sims live would be impossible (unless he had access to some monster computer in the cloud). A previous user (and myself) reported that Leela didn't find the q15 push ...

Re: “Decision: case of using computer assistance in League A
Now that I have a PC with gpu I let Leela analyse for 2.5m sims and q15 did rise from choice #18 to #5. So Leela did start to think about it more but was still far off local moves around the cutting stone (net and p7 peep top iirc).
2.5 m sims seems a huge amount of time to me. How many ...
