The KataGo developer is not involved with whoever is running "KataGo" in the tournament. (source: Katago Discord)
At this point the whole tournament seems like a pointless exercise with so many timeouts from different programs. This would seem to point to a problem with the organization of the ...

Re: Use of GoGod database
I like the user interface for pattern searching of Drago better than Kombilo. Unfortunately, it only works on Windows.

Making A Pine Goban
My latest iteration is made from a nice cut of pine and uses magnets to securely hold the halves together. I like the feel and sound result better than the harder maple and the magnets work great. The grain on this cut of pine is nice as well. I am not sure how well the pine will withstand ...

Re: DGT 2010 Clock
I created a short video showing byo-yomi (I call it byo-Bronstein) in operation. It also goes through all the beeps that will happen using a short time setting. A sample of the beep sound was impossible to find, it seems an appropriate volume and tone.

Just as a random reference on my system, Windows 10 using a GTX 760 with all the latest drivers and updates.
OpenCL: ~40 visits per second
CUDA: ~50 visits per second
CUDA is a bit faster, but installing CUDA is a bit intimidating if you are not used to this sort of thing.

Re: USGO Congress costs in 2020
The YMCA camp in Estes Park was approved as the venue for the 2020 US Go Congress at the last US Go Congress.

Re: Linux distribution and Leelaz
Does this happen only when you run two or more instances? Perhaps they are using the same locations in memory and crashing due to this?

Re: Making a white maple goban
It is working as intended, a nice looking board that I am not afraid to throw in a bag with other things or spill something on since I can easily refinish it.
It is mainly the hassle of getting a sword, making a jig, and ink that I wanted to avoid with the lines. The only reason I would want to own ...

Fujusawa Shuko Picture Origin
I was wondering if anyone knows where this picture of Fujusawa Shuko is from. I absolutely love it and would like a slightly higher resolution one to use as a background. I don't know where to find it though, perhaps its in a book I can buy or something like that?

Re: Making a white maple goban
If you plan to make another one, try to find a black pigment ink, like India ink, because the black ordinary ink of your pens might fade.
I really wanted to do this initially, but getting uniform lines was going to be extremely difficult. The fillable pens/markers I could find for pigmented ...

Thanks.
I am no expert on aesthetics and tend to be a bit more utilitarian oriented, but I still like things that are nice. I use glass or yunzi or plastic stones, so I am not worried about slate or shell issues. I went with a slightly harder wood because I intend this to be a portable board and ...

Making a white maple goban
Here is how I made my portable 19x19 goban after not being able to find a solid wood board without hinges for sale.
This is a list of things used, besides all the tools for planing (if necessary), cutting, and drilling the boards.
