Re: Where to find blank kifu books?

I made my own kifu by copying an existing kifu blank page into illustrator and took off some stuff and added others, like my name. I went to kinkos and printed 100 pages and they glued them up like a legal pad. was cheep too. like 5 bucks.

Wow!! Two positives from the AGA

Kudos to Sam Zimmerman and Chris Garlock for responding quickly to get my membership renewed. I got my card unexpectedly quickly.

Seriously, entirely unexpected but wholly welcome.

Thanks for the great service. :D

Yeah man.. all yall up in Seattle should go daily. I LOVED that club when I visited. I really hated leaving Seattle. Best go club in the country, imho.

I really hope your financial considerations improve. I know if I were there I would gladly volunteer.

Re: Kong Jie's name

The thing about Hangul and Korean names is that there is a preference for 3 syllable names.

Very few Koreans have two syllable names.

They may not also realize that jie is pronounced 'jyeh' as in one syllable. So when they try to reproduce the name in hangul its natural for them to do it in 3 ...

Re: I was fired from the AGA

WI actually consider the AGA membership a tax I have to pay to play in Congress. When you lose long term members like Steve Fawthrop who I played in like '93....

Really? Then I guess I know you, but I don't have a clue who you are, hiding behind "PGWM"

Re: Future projects/goals of the AGA

Membership, or the lack thereof, is a real problem for the AGA. One thing worth considering is mandating the chapter heads to call TV stations and newspapers well in advance of a tournament and getting it published. good press is important to let parents know there is something out there called go ...

Re: I was fired from the AGA

Wow... its funny to see some people who worked for the AGA say the same stuff I have said.

Words like 'unprofessional', when they come up, should be taken seriously.

Re: Kong Jie's name

I've noticed that Kong Jie's name is usually spelled in Hangul as 콩지에, but have seen it on 바둑TV spelled as 쿵제. Are there different systems to translate Chinese names to Hangul in a similar way to our plethora of Romanization systems?

No....its just bad translating on their part. They should just ...

Re: Buying a Goban Go Set - Can anyone help?

I find it interesting that no one mentions Yutopian enterprises. Sidney Yuan has always done well by me. I get great stuff at great prices. They also have wonderful go Books. He's located in California. I haven't ordered anything for awhile, but thats only because I have 3 floor gobans, 10mm slate ...
