Just to wet the appetite, I seem to have a short score of Western player games against Kansai Kiin pros. They're old-ish, from the 13th Sankei in 2016-17, but it's what I have. I think I got them, a few years ago, from a Japanese site.

Europe - Kansai Kiin match in autumn
Apparently, there's a match being prepared between the Kansai Kiin and European pros. I don't know if there'll be KK&NK qualified Europeans. Source is...

An optimistic stray thought on Western Go
I've been reading some Japanese Go history, of late. Sometimes, a rereading of Shuei's life, sometimes I would advance some on Segoe's biography... you know the drill. And I keep having a bit of the same feeling time and again.

Re: Risa Ueno, 7th World Senko cup
I'm still watching it, but I had my phone run the graph. Now, it's a phone KataGo, read by a DDK, so take this with a jar of salt or two, but the losing move is an answer to a monkey jump.
Really, really tight game.
Take care.

Risa Ueno, 7th World Senko cup
Now, this was a CLOSE one.
In the same way Europeans had more chances in the Amateur one, Japan had more chances in the professional one, having half the slots in the tournament. Even so...

Senko 2025, European win
I was looking for the SGF on the Pro section, which was finishing as I woke up this morning. Apparently, the Ama tournament already finished on Friday, and we have a European winner, by resignation (I assume; it's one of those "wins without counting" of old). Now, I'll grant that with 3/8 of the ...

Re: Trying to accept influence
Try entering the moves into an SGF editor from memory at the end of the day. On a first go, you might only get the first 20 or 30 moves. But with practice, you'll be surprised at how easy it is to remember 100 moves, even several hours later. (I was sceptical the first time someone told me this ...

Re: Trying to accept influence
Oh dear, you took me very literally! It's not just the position I want to look at. It's the flow of the game: how you respond to the opponent's moves, how you make decisions, the process by which you got to that position. I was hoping for a game record move by move, whether it's SGF or handwritten ...

International Women's Day -- Ogawa vs Sugiuchi
I'm trying something newish, for me, and start studying a pro game a month, using something that's celebrated that particular month. Last Thursday, Sugiuchi-sensei, 8th dan, oldest active Go player, had her 98th birthday. Some 30 [31] years ago, she had a final against Ogawa Tomoko, of NHK and Ishi ...

Re: Harsh penalty for using phone
Question...
I'm only, fuzzily, aware of the Japanese ratio, but... what's the ratio of male/female pros in China and Korea?
Take care.

Re: Harsh penalty for using phone
In this case the professional status was revoked, this is something permanent. The suspension from CWA activities is limited to 8 years and affects a lot more than just the ability to enter professional tournaments.
This makes more sense than how I first understood it, thanks.

Re: Trying to accept influence
The sidebar gives your rank as "OGS ddk". Is that still the case?
Sort of. OGS claims I'm 9k or so, but that's mostly 13x13 games, and I haven't played there in a while. I've been playing face to face, I'm afraid only once a month, against 14k-9k. With that idea in mind, I _think_ I'm about 12k ...

Trying to accept influence
Guys,
I've been on-off in Go for ages. Never really that long off, but seldom that long or that deep "in", either. Life kept happening. I've managed to keep a very low-key steady rhythm for a while (6 years) that might be increasing. Sometime ago, I got away from 4-4 because I kept seeing immediate ...

Re: Mainstream Go Sightings
There's a 25m video on the Fujitsu FACOM 128B , a post-war relay computer. There's a brief pic of Toshio Ikeda (future head of Fujitsu) by a floor board, in... yukata? The board is old sized (not overly thick, I mean), and the stones seem on the slim side. But it's Go.
