Re: Takagawa Kaku

If Takagawa beat Go Seigen down a rank, he would be called worthful succesor of Shuei and i guess sth close to sage. But it didnt happen.

5 cents about different topic. If someone say Shin Jinseo beat Ke Jie 3-0 in match (even), all ppl would be sure, that it means that match was played with 6,5 or ...

Re: The 3-3-invasion punishment we learnt is wrong

I think correct punishment of white hane might depends on ladder. If ladder works for black, then black can cut at 4-5 (after exchange on bottom) - if white descend, then black plays at 2-6 trying to connect on 1st line with corner group, and white is pretty much screwed. If ladder does not work ...

Re: Humans vs. Alpha Go Zero

If you assume that FineArt ver E (currently playing on FGS) is around AGZ strenght, then there is pretty good measure of distance between it and humans. Onishi Ryuhei (not top pro for sure, but pretty strong one, currently in Honinbo League, if you need more info check his GoRatings) played sth like ...

Re: Following Nakamura Sumire

I think much better measure would be when she will enter league of major title, or get into 1/16 or 1/32 knockout phase. Imho she have some advantage cuz AI revolution started in her start of career. If she is really a prodigy like Shusaku, it will be obvious pretty soon. Though we also must ...

Re: Shin Jinseo

Uberdude, isnt Shin better are beatin all top 3-100 than Ke Jie? Anyway, 14 games is not significant amount of games to judge (if match between Shusaku and Yuzo would last only 14 games he would not beat him down to sen-ai-sen ;) ), and looking at Shin Jinseo results its imho obvious that he was ...

Re: Shin Jinseo

Part of my post was joke but it seems it was poor one, sorry for that. I should wait till Shin Jinseo advantage will be same as Fischer over Spassky (125 points, so just a 22 points more) before Match of Century and then use that argument.

I think on CGOS you cant set handicap games, so maybe someone is checking strenght of some AI with black hole opening as a handicap?

Re: Shin Jinseo

You need to have extremely strong lack of faith in WHR rating system to have doubts that Shin Jinseo is stronger than Ke Jie. But if so, why you follow it so closely ? ;)

Ok so lets see. Currently Shin Jinseo rating is 3830 while Ke Jie is 3727. This is difference of 103 points. But that does not ...

Re: 22nd Nongshim Cup

You say it in a way, that sounds like EGF pros regularly lose against Dai Junfu, and does not win any game at all.

What is truth? According to EGD database, truth is as follow:

Dai Junfu, EGF rating 2764 has record:
0-2 against Ilya Shikishi (2809)
2-0 against Artem Kachanovskyi (2750)
0-1 ...

Re: Ichiriki Ryo

If i am not mistaken, Ichiriki just beat his arch-nemezis Iyama Yuta with black, and is new Tengen (total score 3-2)! So now, Ichiriki holds 2 Big Titles Tengen and Gosei, and he is best ranked japanese player on Goratings - 11th place. Not bad, i think.

Re: Following Iyama Yuta (no world ranking discussions)

Ichiriki Ryo beat Iyama Yuta in first game of Tengen final B+0,5. It was very close game, Iyama had solid lead in early phase (all eastimations according to FA) when Ichiriki didnt countered white keshi severe enough, however after some complicated middle game though FA said Iyama have more than 99 ...
