Re: GoGameGuru going back to its roots. The Go shop is no mo

After reading through all of that, i'm not sure if it's a deliberate attempt to discredit YMI, or it's just an overzealous effort for consumer advocacy.

Re: AlphaGo TV talk show with Mr. Fan Hui 2p

Watched about half before I stopped watching. Seems to be a Chinese version of an English talk he gave previously, I think at the Go Congress? More dramatic though as it's now in his native language, so it's not worth translating as it'll lose the flavor.

Re: Kuroki Centenary 40% discount

And... it's over. I also couldn't resist and bought a board and stones from the anniversary sale. But it's still on its way to me by ship. I figured I can wait for them to slooooowly make their way to me - I've already waited for 13 years before getting this anyway, a month or even 2 of waiting is ...

And a huge selection of other bowls too, many of them on a pretty deep discount due to being off-spec.

Re: 2016 Pro qualification tourney

There is no doubt that Japan is the weakest of the three countries. However, by78 likes to bring it up in many threads which have nothing to do with the topic which is a bit trollish.

Went through his profile and his posts, the comment that says that he hates on Japanese pros as a hobby is not a ...

Re:

I cushion all my bowls, even my very cheap bowls and plastic ING stones.
It's just good habit to protect the stones, the bowls, and dampen the clacking noises.

And not just the interiors -- I also cushion the bottom of the exterior of the bowls, and the lids! (When I flip the lids as prisoners ...

Re: 2016 Pro qualification tourney

Calling Japanaese pros weak is kind of by78's hobby...

Ah I see. I shall not feed the troll further.

First to mind is the recent Globis cup final (2016-04-24), in which Chinese Li Qincheng 1p (who admittedly became pro quite a few years ago but for some reason didn't get 2p until just a few ...

Re: 2016 Pro qualification tourney

A lot of theses kids are probably as strong as many top-50 Japanese pros, if not stronger. Quite a few of them could probably take out a top-10 Japanese pro.

Such a surfeit of talent...

Isn't it amazing what having more than a billion people in one country can do??

I think your judgement is ...

Re: 2016 Pro qualification tourney

Notice how many of them wear glasses. I read something a few weeks ago that said that as many as 80% of the younger generation wear glasses, compared to 20% two generations ago. It was attributed to lack of natural light because they don't spend as much time outsides as formerly.

I'm from ...

Re: First Kyu - Novel

Wow didn't realize this ended up as a rare book. I remember buying it from Amazon for real cheap not too long ago. I can't seem to find the book at my home for some reason, either lost it during the move or I guess I might have given 400 pounds away.
