I vividly recall one of my Go books by a Japanese author stating plainly that " to stand still is to fall behind ", but I cannot for the life of me find the passage now within my library.
There is a very similar one in Kageyama's Lessons in the Fundamentals of Go.

Re: My WP go blog is now open to the public once again
Denver-based Photobucket is now seeking a $399 (£309) annual fee from those who wish to continue using it for "third-party hosting"
Wow, that is insane. I'm guessing Photobucket won't be around much longer.
You could try out imgur . I haven't used Photobucket in years; whenever I want to share ...

Re: GoUniverse (New KGS client)
The way they put it, it looks as if GoUniverse is a brainchild of ASR, or at least as if it were a commissioned work, as if they were the principal and you were just a mere contractor.

Re: GoUniverse (New KGS client)
Should "score estimate" and "game analyze" be disabled during the game, or there is nothing bad if player will be avaliable to use this stuff during the match?
Considering some players will be using this (or other third party clients) and others will be using the official client, I think these ...

Has anyone heard any news about gogameguru after around mid-June 2016?
Has anyone been able to get in touch with them recently?

Have you tried searching your browser's history (assuming it hasn't been cleared since then) and perhaps Google's Web and Search History (assuming you found it through Google in the first place)?

Re: livein19x19.com
My browser's new tab page is a 3x3 grid of bookmarks (with thumbnails), one of which is for lifein19x19.com's new posts page. So, nope, entering the wrong url never happens to me.
It might help if you remove the erroneous url from the list of suggestions. In firefox, start typing the url or search ...

Chess Clock by LR Studios
I've used that clock a couple times at my local Go club for casual games and was pleased with it.
However, having other people "tap" my phone made me so nervous that I wouldn't volunteer my phone for this purpose again. Some people might respect the fact that smart ...

Do you happen to remember if the two were completely still shots,
or were they "animated" -- with the camera doing more than just 2D panning or rotation ?
They were mostly static; there were two shots of the same board and stones position from different camera angles, with perhaps a bit of ...

In episode 16 of Shirobako, a character mentions that she was in the Go club in high school, and a bit later there are two brief shots of a Go board.

On the other hand, here on KGS these kind of argumentative threads tend to drag out for pages and pages. I fully expect that in two weeks or so, maybe more, we will keep seeing new posts added to this thread, and will think "Are they still really talking about THAT?!"

I'm not fundamentally opposed to advances in technology, but... what is the actual benefit of this? Being able to unlock a door without the usual key or keycard? In this case, the supposed benefit doesn't even approach the costs (surgery, potential health concerns, etc.). I'll stick with "old school ...

I feel confident saying that making it to the finals of Code Jam would be easier than passing any Go professional qualification.
