Re: A short game (2k kgs)

Thanks Shaddy, I guess i have to play more games and pick one where I lost completly.

@EdLee: Thanks. Looks like I have to study joseki some more. Playing rare moves could be bad in many positions.

A short game (2k kgs)

I post this game because I wasn't sure about the opening, the upper-left and lower-left corner are what I was unsure about.
However i did like my result in both of those corners.
About I called that an overplay since it can't really get a base in that small space.

I also posted my thoughts about ...

Re: GoPanda 2 Development Status

The feature list mentions a fullscreen mode - anyone found out how to activate that?
When watching a game: there are controls below the board, the first one activates fullscreen mode (click it again for more fullscreen, a 3rd click goes back to window mode).
This should be the same when you are ...

Re: Go Style Estimator

I tested it 3 times with:
1. 40 Tygem games
2. 40 KGS games (by entering my userid)
3. 40 IGS games

Of course for IGS and Tygem I used my latest games.
With my tygem games it estimated me as KGS 2k (pretty accurate)
With KGS: 3k (again very accurate)
With my IGS games (at 5k range) it estimated me ...

Re: tried to play calm

Here I have some comments, I apologise if any of this was mentioned before.
When I saw your kgs nickname I remebered we played in February on KGS, at that time I wanted to give you a review but then I thought that might be rude. That's why i give you some comments on this game instead.

I hope this ...

Re: interesting capturing race from game

Is this from one of your games?

It's 4 libs against 4 libs, White will win since it's his move.
But white must start with T14, if white plays anything else Black will win the race.

Re: Me (7-9k) vs. 2-4k

is a bit unusual, R6 is the most played move here. This opening is called kobayashi Fuseki. (This is a video lecture from Battousai about this opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LIeWNVuzebU )
Not a good idea, the video above shows why.
Is this joseki? I don't think it's a good ...

Re: 4k vs 5k

Thanks for all the comments!

@skydyr: are you sure? I did count the top-left black group as alive or at least as seki. Is it dead? I'm really bad at life&death. In the game I thought I can kill by forcing his eye shape to a dead one, but then I played elswhere because the best I could find was a ...

4k vs 5k

I usually review all of my games by myself but in this game I have no idea what went wrong.
I played White in this game and I won, but I was wondering why Black resigned? In my opinion white cannot win the game-deciding-ko. I'm sure that I lost this game.
In this whole game I felt like black was far ...

Re: Error:cannot create room

Whenever I try to start a game using the Tygem auto match, after some time, it gives me the error cannot create room. I am also unable to start accept matches. If I click the accept button, nothing happens. Does anyone know what is causing this, and if there is a solution
At the time this was ...

Enter your log-in details, and it gives you your graph.

Thanks!

Re: stone clicking sound missing - windows 7

How to implement? First, open the zip file and look through the source code for any malware or security vulnerabilties. If you are satisfied, and willing to use this at your own risk, rename the file to .jar and place it under lib/ext in your java home directory. For me this was /usr/lib/jvm/jre ...

Thank you Bill, your variations help a lot.
To tell the truth I never thought about most of them.
