Re: Does this mean one can reach 1 dan with memory and pract

I will give this a try.

The neural net, is, itself, the memory.

It is like a slide rule. A slide rule does not remember, it just solves for the equation.

Neural nets are really analog machines, like a dial. They are not digital. A neural net on a computer, is really a digital representation, of a ...

Re: Starting go in your later years

"The brain isn't even fully developed until around age 26, and it is not like it becomes useless and cannot learn anything new after that."

More like mid-thirty's! The ability to predict the behavior of others, based on your own actions, takes time to mature.

Re: People Using 10% of Their Brain - and other complaints

I used to think the brain was the most wonderful and interesting organ in the body; but then I realized, hey, look what's telling me that.

If we used 100% of our neurons all the time, our heads would fry to death in about five minutes. It's not about use, it's about quantity and efficiency.

Re: Defending two-space extensions

I think the principle here is, when one of your stones is attached to, you must answer.

The attachment can be direct on the side, or the diagonal, as in your case. You must answer right there. Especially when there are a bunch of enemy stones around, then your #1 priority should be making life, or ...

Re: Baduk, proved to affect on brain development!

The brain re-uses everything. For instance, muscule memory is used in language. First, you learn to put one thing in front of another, with your arms. Then, you learn that you can put the first thing behind the other thing! A portion of your brain remembers that.

You then learn to write. You put ...
