Also can you view games after you played them and is there sgfs of them somewhere on this app/server?
If you connect through a web browser, you can see the last game and Export is an option which results in the moves and players in SGF format. This is in a text field on the screen. You will have ...

Re: Cosumi
I just started playing COSUMI. I like that it has an HTML5 mode so I don't have to worry about Flash versions.
I'm somewhere around 14k. It was giving a bit of a run on 9x9 at Level 0, but I am now winning by more than komi more often than not. Against Level 1 on 13x13, I am also wining more than ...

Returning player looking for old games
Is there any way to get copies of games played on IGS before the current account?
I originally started playing on IGS in 1995.
I seem to remember that there was an archive, but I've been unable to find it.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Traveller

Re: RIP Non-Widescreens
Higher resolution for me means 1920x1200 in a display smaller than 22".
The closest I found from Apple was an iMac that has 1920x1080 in 21.5" and not as a separate device. 27" to get more pixels is not what I'm looking for. For starters, it will not fit on my desk.

Re: Getting Firefox to automatically open SGF in viewer?
Just a note.
My installation of Firefox, current as of the last time I checked for new versions, properly opens SmartGo for SGFs from both OGS and DGS. I have no extra plug-ins for handling files or similar content. I'll have to look at the configuration, but my installation is very vanila, just ...

Re: RIP Non-Widescreens
My biggest gripe with current LCD displays is that there are resolutions that you can get for laptops that are not available for desktops at any price.
Over a decade ago, I got a Dell laptop with a 1600x1200 display in 15". More recently, I spec'd a laptop for my father with 1920x1080 in 15".

Re: Automach modus evaluation
I have found it the most reliable way to get a quick game in.
I prefer to play with Chinese rules, but, if that were allowed in automatches, processing a preference and displaying the ruleset used would add additional programming to be accomplished, tested, and maintained.

Re: Where is OGS??
Thanks for the detailed response.
A note here and an update to the SL OGS/Status page would go a long way toward providing good distribution to the OGS community when the site itself isn't available. I'm not on Twitter, but a feed for status there (and other periodic annoucements such as Tournament ...

Source for kifu using stickers
Many years ago, the last time I was playing in tournaments, you could buy a set of stickers with the move numbers on them. These could be attached to a kifu during the game.

Re: Improvement from Turn based games
Playing Turn-Based games is not the best way to improve, but it is better than nothing. Is it a 'good' way? That depends on the individual. Games played is a strong indicator of development.

Or put another way, when do new players get added?
