Is there an active weiqi scene in 重庆 (Chongqing)?

I frequently travel here to meet some friends and have looked for casual in person games, but have only been able to found one after a lot of wondering around. Can anyone point me to any active areas were I might encounter casual go players in Chongqing?

Re: Variants on Kaya?

Why aren't people mentioning Batoo? It is better than Go.

Re: Mainstream Go Sightings

In the movie, Sleeping Beauty directed by Julia Leigh there is a brief scene discussing and analyzing a particular game of go.

Re: Another strange disconnection issue

I also had this problem. You should report this on the tygembaduk website on their forums, the admins actually read these types of problems and fix them.

Re: A new server is being developed: Kaya.gs

I think that a good way to make the server popular for other people is to offer attractive game play features not available at other go servers. Accessibility alone, in my opinion, will make the server gain users slowly.

I am no programmer and don't know how difficult each of these are to ...

Possible new server: Kaya Go Server

Just found out a new go server is being developed. Looks like a good idea as long as people go into the server. What seems to me to be the difficulty of creating a new go server is that people are always reluctant to switch servers because they want to be in the most populated servers. Any thoughts ...

Re: How to find Korean clubs in the US?

Funny story.. A few months ago I was looking to play a little in person as I always play on internet. This is an interesting story.

Looking at the AGA website, I found that there was a Philadelphia Baduk Association located in a Korean neighborhood in the Cheltenham area. I went to the address and ...

Re: Mainstream Go Sightings

In the first episode of a 13 episode anime series Night Raid 1931 the characters play a short game of go while discussing a mission.

In the Korean super awesome action movie The Man From Nowhere (available in Netflix instantly), there is a scene where the protagonist walks into a game shop and the ...

Re: The shape of go in Korea

It'd be interesting to see the worldwide shape of Go. My question is: Do y'all think Go is on the decline since it appears the main demographic is the older generation? I know Hikaru no Go was a major boon for the popularization of Go with a lot of the younger generation. Perhaps we need something ...

Re: Not that strong...

9 dan?! I have difficulty believing a true 9 dan would sandbag. He could have just made a quick account as a 9 dan; I would be more likely to believe that it was just a sdk player messing with me. No offense but I find your story hard to buy.
yes they do sandbad.

Re: Not that strong...

I quite enjoy Tygem. I was well and truly sandbagged - I started playing a 17k some weeks back. Alhtough I'm struggling with many aspects of the game.. it became clear that my opponent was a little stronger than me... once he'd destroyed me I pressed him on his true rank. By logging in and out ...

Solution

I found http://goshrine.com/. It is free, real time, and it allows you to play though firewall. Great for when in school. The only downside is that there are little players, but if one is really desperate there are bots to play. eurogoserver might be another solution although I don't think this goes through firewall.
