Go is like Tic Tac Toe:

Every go move played that is not part of the (unknown) perfect play is just a bet: You do not know the answer to this move yet.

Therefore every go move played is just a bet, aka trickmove.

There is no honest play only trickery. ;-) Did you know? Do you agree?

(But do not despair, there is a whole universe to explore  )

I fundamentally disagree that a move with unknown outcome is the same as a trick move. There may be a being for whom go and tic tac toe are equally trivial, but our finitude is a fundamental part of being human. We strive and do our best in spite of our limitations, and it is in those spaces where we boldly foray into the unknown that there is opportunity for growth. Go provides that space; tic-tac-toe does not.

I think a trick move is one where:

1) I know the right answer
2) I think that you do not know the right answer
3) I should've played a different move if I knew you knew the right answer

There's nothing tricky about playing into a situation where you don't know the right play. In that case, you're just challenging you and your opponent to make the best decision possible. Then the game is decided by who can navigate that maze of complexity.

You can mess around with the precise definition of #1. If I know two answers, both of which end with me getting a bad result, that seems like a trick move. There might also be a case where I know the right answer, but it's not a trick move, because the result depends on reading that is beyond me. Those are cases like "I'm at a disadvantage, I play here, you play here, then we fight, but I can't read my way to concluding you will kill me".

Even Tic Tac Toe did provide some space when I was (quite a bit) younger
