The design is fine. :)

Have you considered lowering the price by, say, $5.00?

I am about as close to target market as you can get, but I didn't know the product existed. Do you have other T-shirt designs that sold better? That being said...

I like white on black better. Some other color options might help.

There's a sense of cultural appropriation going on that may be off-putting to some, but it's hard to say how much of an effect that would be.

Maybe doing custom designs for clubs or events could work better. The Cotsen Tournament has some swag they are able to move.

Mostly it may just be hard to sell tees in general.

I agree. Perhaps as a solution, the OP could put the name for go in a number of different languages? That could be very cool.

Cultural appropriation?????

No me diga!

Baka ni tsukeru kusuri wa nai.

Seriously, if that is cultural appropriation, then we all have to stop playing go, baduk, weiqi. Edit: All us haoles, I mean.

Bill, I don't think either I or Calvin Clark are suggesting that this is cultural appropriation. I think if you know the game and understand what the shirt is, most would agree that it's fine. But someone who did not know what the shirt means and was unfamiliar with go might get upset seeing someone of non-Chinese descent wearing a shirt with only two large Chinese characters on the front. They may be right or wrong in their beliefs -- the entire issue of what constitutes cultural appropriation is a complicated debate -- but the shirt would still upset them. Obviously, at least in the US, this would be more likely in some areas than others.

Once I wore my lavalava downtown. Later a friend asked me if I was gay. ;)
