The idea of taking cutting edge neuroscience out of the lab and into the real world, first began as a conversation on the sidelines of a research study in 2012. After years of trials and development we will launch our first product, Edge, to the public in late 2019.
Edge is a wearable headset and software platform that improves memory by boosting the activity in the prefrontal cortex, the part of the brain responsible for problem solving and decision making. The Edge headset will be the first consumer technology shown in research to measurably improve memory.

I haven't critically examined this. They could be frauds. But it is intriguing. I didn't read everything but the website mentioned a paper here: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/ ... +Paper.pdf 18 subjects performed 1. A 10-minute test without stimulation 2. 3-minutes break 3. A 10-minute test with stimulation 4. 3-minutes break 5. A 10-minute test without stimulation Apparently, the 18 subjects (contrary to 18 controls) performed significantly better in tests 2 and 3 than in test 1 (the difference was about 1 standard deviation). Maybe tsumego solving skills would be improved by this method? However, this doesn't say anything about long-term effects. The study doesn't prove that stimulation improves memorization over periods of several months.
