Personal tesuji names

Many common tesuji have standard names, such as the crane's nest tesuji, the nose tesuji, snapback, throw-in, etc. I find that giving names to things like this makes it easier to remember them.

There are a few other tesujis that I've ended up giving my own personal names to. This will always be the fish-hook tesuji to me, for obvious reasons:

This is more commonly known as a "crush", I think.

I think that it is called something like "scratching the tanuki's belly" in japanese. The tanuki is a japanese raccoon dog.

I call it the invisible tesuji because this kind of move is something that remains invisible from our reading eyes and chances are you won't find it in the 1 out of every 9000 games it just might happen to be applicable for. It is difficult for even professionals to find this kind of tesuji, but at the same time it is found in more than just the 6-dan section of tesuji books.

One and a half year back, when I was around 20kyu I visited a go club in the Ruhr-area, which is around 100 km away from here.
I played a couple of games there. In one of the games I encountered the following endgame sequence:

Well I, myself back then a very confident 20 kyu, who of course had nearlly mastered the game, played the sequence out. After my opponent, a very positiv and friendly woman, played 5 I realised that all my corner stones were done for. After the game - which I lost pretty badly

- she told me that the sequence has a special name. Some years ago there was a girl named Linda, who visited the go club and played all the time this wrong sequence (starting with Move 2) and was not able answer the hane at 1 properly. Therefore her follow go-club members started to call the first line hane in constallation with the two lonely black stones the Linda-Sequence, because Linda would fall for it every time.

When I see two beginners playing a game and one of them is playing the hane and the otherone is answering the wrong way I always think of this evening in the goclub

P.S.: I now this is not actually a Suji or something ;-)
