Hi,

when I want to make all kinds of stupid mistakes playing out exercises, I first used a real board (cardboard).

Then I used an SGF editor (qGo).

I try different variations, but the editors I have do not allow for forking.

I like eidogo a lot, but the board is rather tiny, and it would be great to have an offline version for this.

So...
is there a "bigger" version of eidogo (yes, I can zoom the browser, but it looks funny soon)?
is there a stand-alone / offline program you use for this purpose?

Thanks!

I like this chrome extensions, it can open sgf directly in your browser from website downloads, load from disk, export ascii diagrams and screenshots...

The actual old qGo from 2009 or so? You might want to check out my improved variant of that: https://lifein19x19.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16354
What do you mean by forking?

I use Ilya Kirillov’s awesome “Web Go Board” Chrome plugin, it’s a full-fledged SGF editor in a browser window, all done in HTML5.

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... ieajggfbmd

It can load SGF from URL or disk (for the latter to work go to chrome://extensions and turn on "Allow access to file URLs" for this extension), or take it from clipboard; edit with all commonly used symbols; export as animated GIF; and it gets as big as the window can get on your monitor.

Aargh, Uberdude beat me to it already …

Ilya Kirillov is L19 user KOCMOHABT, and he introduced the plugin on L19 here: https://lifein19x19.com/viewtopic.php?f ... &start=120

Thank you all!

I've tried Sabaki today, and it looks good, but when I saved an edited SGF there, the forum [sgf] or [go] tags did not work on it.
Probably my fault, will revisit the "How to post SGF"-sticky.

For my plan to create a tree view of variants, Sabaki is fine (Sorry, bernds, I have never compiled source code, so can't use yours!).

The browser plugins are helpful to play out exercises from books, but another problem is that if I have an exercise in a browser tab, and the hiddema diagrammer or an sgf editor in another tab, I can't see them at the same time, so creating the start diagram is difficult.

I was hoping I can resize both the browser and the editor so they fit next to each other (using multiple browsers would be a solution, but a bit messy).

I hope I'll learn to get the Sabaki sgf files onto the forum, then it would be the solution.
