Hi all

I am at the very beginning of my go career. Are there any books or resources (websites) that people can recommend?

I have Iwamoto's Go for Beginner's and am looking at studying this fascinating game in the new year.

I would also appreciate any suggestions on study for beginners.

Have a good week and catch up soon.

Probably the best resource for starting out is The Interactive Way To Go.
It assumes no previous knowledge and teaches both the rules and the most fundamental tactical concepts ;)

Sensei's library is sure to become one of your most-visited sites as you start to play go. It contains thousands of articles on just about every aspect of the game - including plenty for beginners (which is easy to find from the homepage).

gochild2009.appspot.com is a wonderful resource. It has fun packs of problems - I would suggest starting with one of the "entrance level" packs.

If you like watching games in real time you should check out http://www.gokgs.com, where there are normally dozens of games going on.

I'd suggest 321go.org. It contains a go course with tons of exercise.

I mentioned in a previous post that I watch some kids that are interested in learning. I am also interested in learning and this site that you recommended should be really great for me. Thanks for sharing and I will keep everyone updated on my progress.
