I'm looking for an AI that I can consistently play against. I have a hard time finding opponents in KGS sometimes.

I usually use Cosumi (supposedly 8k), but I've somewhat outgrown it in and got used to it's style. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Obviously a 1 dan bot would outclass me in every way, but my goal is to lose a 100 games against it this week, and hopeful get some quick gains.

Tried Leela?
The newer versions are quite strong, 5d+, but the older versions are 1-2dan.

Have a look at DarkGo :-)

https://pjreddie.com/darknet/darkgo-go-in-darknet/

It says that its level is around 1 Dan although it is 3 Dan on OGS.

"good 1 dan bot", as opposed to a bad one?

Play fast, lose fast. Play slow, win slow.

There are some Monte Carlo based bots that play around that level with a very idiosyncratic style. If you train heavily with a bot like that, some of the technique you develop may not translate well to other opponents. (That's always a danger, but some opponents are likely to exaggerate the effect.)

Thanks! The linked instructions worked for me under 32-bit Linux (Debian 8).
Leela, for example, cannot run because it expects a 64-bit operating system.
(Must update some day.)

Do you know of any way to use a GUI to play with DarkGo?

Anyone knows how to set Leela to play? GoGui?

You can try to play "pachibot" at DGS, which ranks at 1 dan for quite bit of time.

Here is a list of kyu/dan level bots available at DGS:

Not sure about "good" or "bad" part of bots. But pachibot 1 dan ranking should be quite solid at DGS

leela bot is also available at DGS. Currently the leela bot at DGS ranks at 4 dan.

There is now a native Linux GUI for Leela available in the most recent download. I tried out the .deb package yesterday and it works great, though the graphics leave a bit to be desired.
