I had to double-check that the capsule update report was actually written by Uberdude - seemed a bit uncharacteristically impolite in one or two places. |

Actually, how was it nice to read Uberdude's so-called "rude" update report on today games, instead of reproachs |

I disliked his comments related to players' genders or countries of origin. |

This is an interesting position that occurred in the game between Komatsu Hideki from Japan and Kim Cheayoung of Korea. Kim plays white and she lost a group on the right side earlier. White's last chance seems to be in attacking the large black group in the upper-left, which she has been chasing for the last several moves. It is white's turn, and in the game white played at "a" and let black live with "b". Why didn't white go for the kill with "b" instead? |

It seems that white's strongest continuation is to defend around 8 in the last diagram instead of 7, let black capture, then sneak out below 5. |

Quarterfinal matches: An Kukhyun vs. Tuo Jiaxi Park Junghwan vs. Gu Zihao Shin Jinseo vs. Tang Weixing An Sungjoon vs. Tong Mengcheng Korea players have done well in the recent major tournaments, with two Parks in the Mlily semi and favorite to meet in the final and the success here. Their head-to-head records against Chinese players have been impressive. |

I was disappointed with the Japanese players' games, both were quick - by the time I remembered to watch they were already over - and followed similar patterns: when try to fight, a very big dragon dies. Isn't there a proverb saying "big groups never die"? |
