I don't know who is the bigger crybaby - this 8 years old from one year ago, or the grown ups who make such a big deal out of this video :-)

Cho Chikun is known for crying sometimes, when he lost important title games. One such case is described here: https://senseis.xmp.net/?ChoChikun but there are others too...

Another one I read in Go World recently: after the 7th game of the Meijin title from 1985, Kobayashi Koichi commented "Cho started crying after I played this invasion" (the invasion ruined Cho's last hope to win the game, and therefore the match).

I love Cho Chikun. He's so wonderfully human. And that in the age of robots! :D

Sumire is playing Joanne Missingham this week (20 Feb) on the Go & Shogi Channel (but the premium service). We also now have a game of hers against Cho Hun-hyeon. She lost, taking Black, but lasted 192 moves!

Here's the game versus Joanne Missingham, thanks to ShAlexander on reddit.

I looked just briefly at the WBaduk comments on the game with Joanne, it looks like Sumire missed some chances in the 2nd half of the game (they show at least 3 places where she could have played much more severe moves).

I also enjoyed these photos and videos from the event, looks like Takemiya is a big fan of her already :-) https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php? ... 8996189871

Smire's mother making speech in Korean using cell phone. "Smire became 1p but she is not strong. Please take care of her in future."

She said "I will work harder in future.". She is speaking very fluent Korean.

She will become 1p officially 4/1.

Here is a reasonably meaty article from John Power on her background: http://www.usgo.org/news/2019/03/the-po ... ra-sumire/
