I seem to have EidoGo working. Give it a try and let me know if you have a problem. For now you can use
Code:
[eidogo](SGF_DATA)[/eidogo]
for a compact layout, or
Code:
[eidogo-full](SGF_DATA)[/eidogo-full]
for the fancy wide layout.

Eventually these will all be under the "sgf" tag, though the "eidogo" tag will continue to work for backwards compatibility.

I should also have it working with URLs shortly, so you could do something like
Code:
[eidogo]http://files.gokgs.com/games/2010/4/16/dkagan-fwiffo.sgf[/eidogo]
which is much easier than copying and pasting the SGF data obviously. I also plan to eventually have options to jump to a specific move number, or to embed EidoGo in problem mode.

If you have trouble, please let me know what browser you're using. If those of you with iPhones and iPads or odd browsers like Opera or Safari or whatever can give it a try, please do so.

Since the sgf tags already work, will you change those to [ flash ] for backwards compatability?

I dunno. I guess there should be a vote on whether we keep the flash viewer around at all... It seems like the overwhelming majority favored EidoGo and it has broader platform/browser support than Flash, so my first instinct is to use only that (the reason it's under the eidogo tag right now is in case it doesn't work quite right yet we don't want to break the forum for people).

Should be able to load a SGF file from a URL now:

Code:
[eidogo]http://files.gokgs.com/games/2010/4/16/dkagan-fwiffo.sgf[/eidogo]

There's a size limit of 64k for now (should be more than plenty for actual games), so don't go loading joseki dictionaries that way or anything.

And here's problem solving mode... Works with inline SGF or a URL.

Is it just me, or does that seem like bad etiquette to use other people's bandwidth like that?

Or am I being old fashioned? - probably people stop caring about the bandwidth used by text files a decade ago.

It might be bad etiquette if we had tons of traffic or if the files were large, but they're typically like 2k. And it's still a useful feature even if you host the file on your own server, or if you upload it as an attachment here and want to embed the sgf file in your post.
