For graphics, sure, but I don't see the use of allowing other types of attachments, such as .doc files, zip archives, etc. It seems to me there's too much of a security risk with these types of files.

I hosted some of my software on gd before I moved it to sourceforge. It's not terribly good to host your software on a discussion board but it's very convenient.
