Hajin Lee aka Haylee 4p (retired, AFAIK) vs. AQ
Sat. 2018-03-03, 23:00 UTC on OGS

From the OGS forum:
“ZenLeeBot” on OGS wrote:
AQ is an open source artificial intelligence Go program. AQ’s author Yu Yamaguchi published his strong Go program AQ in late 2017. This program has played in a few computer go competitions. In AI Ryusei-sen where it was defeated in the semi-finals by FineArt, placing 4th spot. This program also played in the UEC cup where it lost to DeepZenGo in the semi-finals. Anyone can download this program at https://github.com/ymgaq/AQ/releases and run it on Sabaki.

Currently, it is the strongest Go program that the public can use. It has a 87% win rate over Leela 11 and has a 9d rank on OGS, Tygem and Fox. This week on Tygem, AQ has won against Li Xiangyu 3P and Chen Hao 5p so it will be an interesting game to follow this Saturday!

More info in this thread in the OGS forum.

I just read on the OGS forum that you'll run AQ on a GTX970
Why would you knowingly weaken AQ by (probably more than) 200 Elo ???
Very strange... So yes, Hajin Lee will probably win, but what's the point of using a weak computer ?

Quote:
The 95-5 win against Japanese pros is from hardware that is about 4 times stronger than the GTX 970.
The ELO between two GTX 1080 Ti and one GTX 970 (what you will be playing) is about 200. So it will be weaker (Not 4 times weaker, about 200 ELO) than the games you see on the Yugen no ma server.

The good thing about Hajin playing against the hardware I have is that people typically don’t spend $3,000 USD on a computer however $1,200 is much more reasonable. Therefore you can expect the strength of the AQ program Hajin will be playing is the strength of the AQ program you will get if you download the program and play it on your own home computer.

How would AQ rank on goratings.org based on the 95-5 record versus Japanese pros? Not quite Park Junghwan level yet, I assume?

It's not set in the stone yet that she'll win. I assume the lower limit of AQ = 3400 elo for its full strength. So even 3200 elo is still higher than Hajin Lee's 2966 elo.

Whom do you mean by “you”? I only posted the link and the quote, I am not the person who runs AQ on OGS.

Sorry, I'm glad you're not the one running this...thing.
On Reddit and OGS, I've found two people as disappointed as I am...
Maybe it's because I love computer go more than I love go ;-)

Wow this is what I've been waiting for a long time !

Why not use more powerful cards? How about two V100 or at least two Titan V ?
Everytime Haylee play against bots she is lucky that the hardware is piss poor. Last time on Leela it was using integrated graphics card.
For once I’d like to see her up against top of the line state of the art

If you're not willing to supply the hardware, why criticize it so harshly? I haven't seen anyone step up to provide a stronger GPU, all they have done is complain about how inferior this one is.

AQ, the bot, free and open source, won against Haylee.

This is the first time a free open source go ai bot won against a professional player in even 19 by 19./

and it did so on cheap commodity hardware of one single intel i5 cpu and only one single gtx 970

I'm getting a gtx 2080 when it comes out next month.

For convenience, I have embedded the video so that you don't have to leave L19
(thanks, @hydrogenpi7!)

If I wouldn't adore Hajin Lee already, I’d adore her now, for her courage to post lost games.

What is so disappointing about this program playing stronger than 99.9% of amateur go players on an ordinary home computer? Whether a computer program can play better than all humans is not a question any more. For ordinary home use it is just a matter of what can you learn from it. I doubt that we ordinary humans will in general ever get to a level where AQ would be so "weak" that it would not be useful.

What is the time setting for AQ?

Also, I want to use my computer on OS. What do you think the strength of my AQ will be?

"AMD Ryzen 1700X"
"MSI Geforce GTX 1600 3GB"
