Has anyone ever bought a go set from taobao?

I found a couple of interesting choices, ie:

Any tips for an european non-chinese speaker buyer?!

I'm from the US and used a service like Bhiner to order through Taobao. They have information on their site how to proceed and the steps. You'll make two payments, one for the initial purchase of goods, and the second for shipping from their location to your location. Shipping will be expensive, but certain items, like the entire Lee Changho L&D/Tesuji sets, are cheaper through that method than waiting for someone else to post them on amazon or the like. They should be able to provide you a quote for the entire order prior to purchasing.

So I ended up making an order from Taobao using Bhiner. I payed $50 for the set (amazing deal) but ended up paying $120 in shipping. It was possible to get something cheaper but would take longer and it would be untracked. I would imagine that if you order multiple sets it would get you some savings and make it really worth it. Still I'm satisfied with the final product. The set also comes with a nice Chinese chess set (and the board on the back). The stones seem to be Yunzi, I took the classic "look black stones are green picture".

Thank you for sharing with us, when I am not enough alive to play, I use to look for GO sets on far east websites, but never tried to buy anything.

Basically you can have kind of the same set buying through european shops for a final prices (also with shipping) that is very near to what you spent (also thinking to import dues that can be applied).
IMHO this also give you some better possibilities to have any problem solved if something goes wrong.

Anyway, your set looks very nice: enjoy!
