Hi,

Some friends of mine helped me to produce a YouTube video
where I teach how to study the game of Go the traditional
Way: With asian sitting postures and in front of a goban.

https://youtu.be/0uK40012AEo

There are many videos explaining the rules of go or commenting
Games. What makes this one unique ist that it shows the practice
of studying Go and how to become lucky with Go by yourself.
The perfect practice as long a we have this Covid-19 pandemic.

Great video.

What an awesome meditation room, and beautiful go equipment!

I just started a vintage Go Equipment shop and was looking around the room thinking "I could source all of that" until I saw the Zen altar and the carp drum.

I often see the little arm-rest on the side go unused - do you ever incorporate that in some way? I've seen them for sale and never bought one because I'm not sure what one does with it.

Also, are you a regular zen practitioner?

Thanks for asking this. Unfortunately this japanese arm-rest ist suitable only for smaller people. Especially when using high meditation-mats and -cushions. For sitting in lotus postures with cushions these arm-rests are too low for a tall person like me. Normally you would either lean to the side placing an elbow on it or use it as an arm-rest when sitting cross-legged without cushions. I use them more or less just to get up from the floor comfortably.

Yes, I am a long term zen practitioner. But meanwhile i practice on weekends and on holidays only. Else i go jogging or practice tai chi after my work in the office.
