Hi everybody, If there's anybody in the Midwest region who'd like to play some go, I'd like to inform you that this chapter is up and running with a pretty regular crowd of 7-10 people from beginner to dan. Also, we're hoping for a great turnout for our upcoming All-Iowa Go tournament. These are bi-annual and both dates have already been established for both. We hope to see players from as far away as Chicago and hopefully Kansas. Please use the information below and be sure to register online at our website if you plan to come! General Info: Club Meetings: Saturdays, noon - 4pm, Memorial Union room 3538 Club Website: http://www.stuorg.iastate.edu/cygo/ KGS Club Room: "Iowa State Go Club" 2011-12 All-Iowa Go Tournaments Date: December 3rd, 2011 and April 14th, 2012 (Saturdays) Location: The Memorial Union, Ames, IA (Cardinal Room) Entry Fee: $15 if pre-registered, $25 at the door Rounds: 4 Time Settings: 45:00(30/15:00) Canadian -OR- 45:00 (5)0:30 byo-yomi Prizes: Cash rewarded to top players in sections. Additional prizes may be available. Schedule...............................Sections (provisional) 9:00 AM Registration....................A....1d+ 10:00 AM Round 1........................B....1k-9k 12:00 PM Round 2........................C....10k-19k ***LUNCH***...............................D....19k+ 3:00 PM Round 3 5:00 PM Round 4....................*if there are less than 4 players in a section, 7:00 PM Results and Wrap-up.........sections may be merged or altered *All players must be AGA members. Players without memberships prior to the tournament must pay an additional $10 for a one-day membership * All games are ranked and played with appropriate handicaps * We currently have 18 sets and 6 clocks. Please bring clocks if you have them, sets if you would like A few Ames players are willing to provide space to sleep for travellers wanting to spend the night before and save on hotel cost. Likely 8 to 10 people can be accomodated, first come first serve, please plan on bringing your own sleeping bag, pillows, and/or blankets.
