They were set up in various cities around the world at the behest of Iwamoto Kaoru, who provided the funds for them with the goal of helping to spread go in the west. They were owned and administered by the Nihon Ki-in, without any ownership or support from the AGA, though I think the go centers had/have club memberships. |
