Hello there,

As of this morning, I'm getting an "Incorrect Header Version" error when I try to login to KGS, both on mobile and on the Windows Java client. I've tried updating both clients -- no updates seem to be available.

Anyone else having this prolem? Anyone know what's going on?

Thanks,
Jaye.

It looks like they are updating the client. I just logged in with version 3.5.20 and got the message "Your login was successful, but the client is slightly out of date. You may want to restart this client to ensure that you get the latest version." I was just about to contact an admin about your problem, but saw a message that the server is being shut down to fix the problem that some people can't log in, so it should be fine soon.

On downloads, I see that the mac dmg is packaged with version 3.5.20
The raw jar version is 3.5.22 - I find the difference odd
Is there a new version coming? Does it have any change log?
Did some KGS+ get lost in the server update?

Yeah, there's some issues sorting out new packages getting uploaded. The jar is fine but some of the helper installers are behind.

At least the windows one should now be fixed.

I cannot log in with ubuntu. Getting message that the client wants unrestricted access to the system.

I'm also having problems logging in. I found another thread that pointed directly to the Jar (http://files.gokgs.com/javaBin/cgoban.jar) and I'm able to log in if I download and run that file. But if I try to us the cgoban.jnlp file it just tells me that it's unable to load.

I have had http://files.gokgs.com in my exception list for a long time. Tried adding
http://files.gokgs.com/javaBin/cgoban.jar and

http://files.gokgs.com/ href="http://files.gokgs.com/javaBin/cgoban.jnlp"

but still getting same error.

Also it is failing the same way on linux mint with iced tea.

I turned on the execution bit and got it to work although it comes up a little weird

If you're using the jar file directly on Ubuntu, I recommend downloading the Oracle Java runtime. OpenJDK consistently crashes when I try to play in a game, at least on my machine. (Interestingly, I didn't have that problem with IcedTea and the Java Web Start package.)

Has anyone figured out what's actually changed in the new 3.5.22 client update? The changelog hasn't been updated since 3.5.11

It's mostly internal server changes
