Personally, I find the idea of closed book correspondence games kind of absurd. When a game lasts for more than a month, what does closed book even mean anymore? The only way to truly cut off your play from outside influences would be to not watch or play any other go games or do any studying of any sort. I like to think of these Malkovich games as combined study and play. |
