I definitely didn't see it.

It may be quite difficult for Go players to not look at Loose through 'Go glasses', at least initially. This is an example that for more seasoned players would most likely be filed under 'basic tactics'. It's all about 'false eye recognition'. At the same time I feel it does require more visual dexterity recognizing life/death situations in Loose than in Go.

Mmmmmm, very nice :)

No, I'd need to go back a few moves to replan around that, and that seems unreasonable - too much liberty counting in Go form, and not enough paying attention to Loose rules - very nicely played, I resign!

It is hard to see that :w36: took away a White liberty. I sure missed it. ;)

OK, thanks for the game, topazg. I must confess that I didn't expect to win in the least, especially after giving up the lower right corner in exchange for nothing right in the opening.

I think :w34: was your losing move. Instead, :w34: at :b35: would have been winning:

... winning the capturing race and the game.

You defended the corner very well throughout the game. I was expecting to capture it much earlier, but I think :b21: was a mistake. I should have simply played at l9 instead.

Yeah, :w34: was a mistake - ironically, it was purely due to Go mode at the time. When I played :w34:, the idea was it would kill you in a big way in the corner, and still leave you scrabbling for life on the edge. In Go, that would have been true, as you couldn't keep from connecting without losing your central stones, and the top right corner had only space for one eye after :w34: - in Loose, everything's very different. Bamboo joints are very interestingly weak shape points in loose!
