I've heard from a few people and read on the internet that this website sells fairly high quality boards at affordable prices. However, when I go to this website, the only links are for email, books, and some forum talking about go. Does anyone know how this website works? If it's down? If there really is nothing to be bought here? I'm in search of a nice Go set at around 50 dollars give or take.

Unfortunately, your source is somewhat out of date.

Samarkand.net used to be associated with Janice Kim, but they made a decision a few years ago to stop selling equipment and now only seem to have her books available for purchase.

These days, for US retailers at least, you can take a look at yutopian or yellow mountain imports. I haven't looked for equipment in a while, so I don't know if other retailers have popped up recently.

thank you so much, sir. You've been more helpful than an hour of me searching online. Much appreciated. I've been to those two websites you noted. I think I'm going to start out with a cheaper (23$) board from amazon and then a 20$ set for the pieces.

Yar, last entry at Samarkand from Ms Kim was May, 2012.
